Xbox Game Pass Is Getting A Price Increase And Introducing A New Tier

by Microsoft Some upcoming changes revealed Xbox Game Pass has made several changes, including raising the price of several tiers, introducing a new tier, and discontinuing another.

Starting tomorrow, June 10, Xbox Game Pass for consoles will no longer be available to new members, but those who are currently subscribed will be included in this tier, which includes existing access to day one releases, including first-party Microsoft exclusives. Instead, new members will be able to access Xbox Game Pass Standard for $15 per month. However, this won't include perks like day one releases, access to EA Play, Game Pass for PC, and cloud gaming.

The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offering will remain unchanged, but its price will increase from $17 per month to $20 per month. Xbox Game Pass Core is also getting a price increase, with the annual fee going up from $60 to $75. However, the monthly price will remain at $10. The price of PC Game Pass will increase from $10 per month to $12 per month, but it will still be a Day One release. All of these price changes will start on September 12.

Additionally, Xbox Game Pass codes for consoles will remain redeemable until further notice. On September 18, users will only be able to stack their subscriptions for up to 13 months. However, this will not affect any existing stacks that users already have.

Microsoft recently revealed that this year's upcoming Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, will be included in Game Pass on release day. Microsoft also said it won't be locked behind a new tier. Technically, Microsoft is staying true to its promise because Ultimate isn't a “new” tier.

So if you haven't yet subscribed to Game Pass for consoles and subscribed to it by tomorrow, you'll need to be part of the Ultimate tier to play it on release day via subscription.
